Usual chinese fast-food fair with a sampling of more exotic dishes, but the unbeatable lunch specials, convenient location, and quick service have made it a staple for downtowners.

Editor's Review & Rating

There are a few restaurants whose numbers I have programmed into my phone - these are places that I order delivery or take-out from so often that I find it a necessity. Dinersty is definitely near the top of my list.

Ann Arbor has an abundance of Chinese restaurants, many of which blend into the bland, Chinese-American style of restaurant that was so popular in the 70's and 80's. Dinersty offers something a little bit more exciting.

Besides the standard favorites guaranteed to appeal to the tamest of eaters - such as the sweet and sour chicken or the General Tso's chicken, there are a variety of more genuinely Asian dishes, combining the cuisines of China, Singapore and Malaysia.

Prices are reasonable, and the lunch specials, which are available until 5 PM are ridiculously cheap, costing less than $5 for a meal that includes one of several standard option with soup and an egg roll.

Unfortunately, there is a $15 minimum for a credit card charge, but this is easily solved by either carrying cash or buying meals for others. Also, Dinersty is not the most pleasant atmosphere to eat at, being one of those bustling, fast food style Chinese restaurants.

Neglecting these slight drawbacks, the food at Dinersty is usually quite delightful, although sometimes dishes will be disappointingly bland or the egg rolls will be overly greasy. The Singapore-style rice noodles are a good option, since they are always spicy and provide a little change from the standard Chinese take-out.
